Climate Solutions
Today’s science tells us that if we act immediately, we can avert the worst consequences of climate change.
That’s why Ecology Action has launched the CLIMATE SOLUTIONS PROGRAM, a bold leadership initiative to mobilize the entire Monterey Bay Area to radically reduce our carbon footprint. Through regional public-private collaboration, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito Counties can serve as a model for other regions committed to linking economic and environmental sustainability.
Fortunately, the conditions exist for a vibrant, local economy grounded in meaningful solutions to global warming: we have plenty of solar, wind, wave and tidal energy potential, world-class scientists and thinkers, a forward-thinking political climate, and a tradition of localized, green innovation.
The Climate Solutions Program is here to help harness that potential. We aim to place the Monterey Bay Area in the vanguard of regions leading the way toward climate neutrality.
