A program designed to capture electric and gas savings, and offer renewable and energy efficiency solutions for the City of Palo Alto.
School-Based Bike and Walk Programs
Providing in-class and hands-on safety training along with encouragement programs that get more students biking and walking safely and more frequently.
Bike to Work
Since 1987, our Bike to Work program has been getting more commuters on bikes with positive incentives such as free breakfast, free bike maintenance, and more!
Friends of the Rail & Trail
This rail trail support effort complements our bike and walk programs by giving kids, commuters, families, seniors and visitors a safe, car-free, and scenic 32-mile paved path.
Electric Vehicle Programs
Ecology Action is a fiscal sponsor of the Monterey Bay Electric Vehicle Alliance and works to provide educational opportunities for Monterey Bay Area residents to consider cleaner fuel options and has helped install over 40 electric vehicle charging stations.

Our Transportation Membership Programs work with local employers to provide assistance with employee carpools, free bus passes, and more.
Water Conservation Coalition
Ecology Action designed and executed a plan to inspire Santa Cruz County to make water conservation a way of life, relieving water demand on rivers and wells far beyond the current drought.
Greywater and Rainwater Programs
We’re identifying water conservation solutions in our own back yards, in our homes and businesses, throughout Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties.
Monterey Bay Friendly Landscape Program
A collection of programs that train professional landscapers and home gardeners in ecological landscaping methods and irrigation system management and efficiency.
This program combines water and energy savings, and will provide free direct installation of cost-effective, indoor hot water conservation measures to Santa Clara County
