Energy Programs

Silicon Valley Energy Watch

Since 2009, Ecology Action’s Silicon Valley Energy Watch (SVEW) program has delivered energy savings to PG&E’s municipal, special district and nonprofit customers in Santa Clara County by providing energy assessments, direct installation of energy efficient equipment, technical assistance, and financial incentives. SVEW is a local government partnership between the City of San Jose, PG&E and Ecology Action.

Silicon Valley Energy Watch program is part of a program that provides energy engineering and auditing services for 32 local governments in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Through the Proposition 39 California Clean Energy Jobs Act, Ecology Action is providing engineering and energy management consulting for multiple clients, including schools, municipalities and nonprofits.

As a nonprofit our agenda is simple: to reduce your energy use as cost effectively as possible.

Over the last ten years we’ve saved enough energy to take more than 56,459 homes off the grid.

Fewer Carbon Emissions
  • Helps small businesses, government agencies, schools, municipalities and homeowners use less energy and lessen their carbon footprint.
Healthier Communities
  • Creates healthier and more comfortable environments, especially for schools where lighting is brighter, whiter and puts off less heat.
Stronger Businesses
  • Helps municipalities save valuable energy dollars.
  • Provides more efficient systems and better lighting for schools and businesses.
  • Most installations pay for themselves in under 18 months.
  • We manage the entire job for our clients, the audit, contractors, rebates, everything.

Program Reach

“Through the program we were able to upgrade our outdated lighting systems, which helped us qualify for green business certification. We were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to participate.”
