Helping Kids Form a Life-long Bicycling Habit

All it takes is a little encouragement and instruction to help kids discover all the benefits of self-powered transportation.

With a grant from CalTrans’ Active Transportation Program (ATP) and the partnership of a bunch of forward-thinking organizations, Ecology Action runs events and ongoing programs to show kids the wonders of walking, biking and skateboarding to school.

The Family Fun Fest is a weekend-long celebration of all things person-powered, with cool classes, skills testing, contests and raffles to get everyone excited about not taking the car to get the places they need to go.

Check out the photos of the first two Fun Fest celebrations and learn how you can get involved!

  1. JoJo says:

I love the bike spin art!

  2. Kirsten Liske says:

Bike blenders are such a hit!

  3. Brandon says:

I’m in my 30s and in my entire life I have NEVER seen a bike blender, something new for me. What a cool idea, burn some calories while creating a delicious (hopefully healthy) drink. I stand behind you on forming the bicycle habit.
