The Scotts Valley Active Transportation Plan is a partnership between the City of Scotts Valle,y, Ecology Action, and Bike Santa Cruz County. The Active Transportation Plan will update the 2012 Bicycle Transportation Plan and provide a roadmap for future improvements for walking and bicycling in Scotts Valley.

Public input is the foundation of the planning process and will be gathered through community outreach events, a public meeting, and online comments. Following the public input phase in Fall 2019, the planning team will develop a list of infrastructure recommendations to improve safety and encourage walking and bicycling. The plan will also include recommendations for education and encouragement programs. The final plan is expected to be completed in late 2020 and will be used to guide future improvements and to help the City secure grant funding for project construction.

The City has also recently developed a Safe Routes to School Plan for Scotts Valley schools. Projects from the Safe Routes to Schools Plan will be included in the Active Transportation Plan.

This project is funded through a Sustainable Communities Transportation Planning Grant through Caltrans and SB1.
