Types of Facilities Served
Eligible facilities include, but are not limited to, food banks, food storage and distribution, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, food distribution programs, family and veteran resource centers, youth development programs, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation agencies, etc. that are owned by nonprofit organizations.
The Renew America’s Nonprofits grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and focuses on reducing carbon emissions, improving health and safety, and lowering utility costs at buildings owned and operated by 501(c )(3) nonprofits.
The Western State Food Bank Network Energy Efficiency Program will support nonprofits on the West Coast in planning and implementing energy efficiency projects to create cleaner, healthier community spaces and generate sustainable savings that can be redirected toward mission-focused work. How We Help
Our team will guide the projects from start to finish, including conducting consultations with food banks, planning and designing projects, managing contractors and installation, securing incentives and financing mechanisms, and overseeing post-installation inspections.
Program Partners
Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance (ANI): will provide sub-recipient lead identification, building ownership verification, and support the development of webinars to encourage nonprofit adoption of energy efficiency.
California Association of Food Banks (CAFB): will engage and recruit facilities across its network of food banks and ensure that both the projects and the program are designed to address community needs.
California Indian Manpower Consortium (CIMC): will engage community tribes and identify and recruit suitable facilities on tribal lands and work with local workforce development programs to provide on-the-job training to tribal members, linking trainees to career opportunities.
