About the Program

The Renew America’s Nonprofits grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and focuses on reducing carbon emissions, improving health and safety, and lowering utility costs at buildings owned and operated by 501(c )(3) nonprofits.


The Western State Food Bank Network Energy Efficiency Program will support nonprofits on the West Coast in planning and implementing energy efficiency projects to create cleaner, healthier community spaces and generate sustainable savings that can be redirected toward mission-focused work. Eligibility Criteria

  • 501(c)(3)
  • Located in CA, WA, OR
  • Proof of building ownership
  • Active UEI number in SAM.gov
  • Ability to copay up to 20% of project cost*

*Percentage may vary based on project size and scope.

Eligible facilities include, but are not limited to, food banks, food storage and distribution, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, food distribution programs, family and veteran resource centers, youth development programs, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation agencies, etc. that are owned by nonprofit organizations.

How We Help

Our team will guide the projects from start to finish, including conducting consultations with food banks, planning and designing projects, managing contractors and installation, securing incentives and financing mechanisms, and overseeing post-installation inspections.
