Bike Month Community Ride – Midtown

 

Ride meetup: Meet at The Bicycle Trip at 1001 Soquel Ave. Santa Cruz, CA 95062 at 10am. Free coffee and snacks available.

The ride will leave at 10:30am. Free quick bike safety checks will be offered by Ecology Action ride leaders and mechanics from The Bicycle Trip.

Ride end: We’ll make a loop and end back at The Bicycle Trip around 12pm and will have a yummy free lunch ready for riders in the courtyard outside of the bike shop.

  • Location Hosts: Santa Cruz Mountains Trail StewardshipCity of Santa CruzMODO (powered by Ecology Action)
  • Project Accessibility:
    • Kid-friendly, ADA-accessible, bike-friendly location
    • Difficulty: Beginner. This is a no-drop group ride.
    • No poison oak present.
    • Participants should be ready to ride 4 miles on primarily flat to moderate terrain.
    • Bilingual event (Spanish-speaking leader present).
    • Need to borrow a bike? Contact tawn.kennedy@ecoact.org.
  • Project Site Captains/Ride Leaders: Tawn Kennedy and Juan Castillo (staff from MODO team at Ecology Action)
  • What: Join us for a family-friendly group ride with the MODO team! We’ll kick off at Depot Park, glide through Neary Lagoon, and wrap up at Antonelli Pond. Then, we’ll leisurely return to Depot Park, taking a low-stress route. Following the ride, there’s an optional excursion to the SCMTS National Trails Day after-party. Bicycles are available upon request for participants, and complimentary helmets and bike lights will be provided while supplies last. Learn more about National Trails Day here.
