Have a persistent squeaky brake? Rusty chain? Flat tire? Have your bike checked by one of our mechanics for free! Book a time with us, and we’ll help your bike out with minor tune-ups and repairs to get you rolling into spring!

Volunteer Walk and Roll to School Day @ Ecology Action

Volunteer Opportunity – Join our team Walk and Roll to School Day!

Walk and Roll to School Day (WRTS) happens bi-annually: one in the Fall (October) and one in Spring (May). For many years, Ecology Action has been organizing county wide WRTS events.

Details: Support with packing food and prizes for 35+ schools. Tasks would include but not limited to taping boxes together, packaging food, fruits, and juice into boxes; and labeling and ensuring right number of supplies are accounted.

You can help!

When:

  • Wednesday May 8th, 2024
  • Time: 9 – 2PM.
  • Location: Ecology Action Parking lot – 877 Cedar Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060.
  • Snacks and waters will be available.

This event will be outdoors comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended.

Ecology Action will be participating during this event at El Gabilan Elementary School, starting at 1:30pm. You will have the opportunity to learn more about our Safe Routes to School Program. We have many opportunities for those looking to get involved and help give back. Our programs teach students best practices when riding a bike, crossing the street safely and much more.

Santa Cruz Bike Party @ Depot Park
Join Stanta Cruz Bike Party for their Bike Month installment. Meet at Depot Park at 7pm.

 

Santa Cruz Bike Party is a mobile party for riders of all ages, experience levels, and types to meet, ride, and play together in the streets. Rides are 7-10 miles long with music and dance breaks along the way. Rides move at a relatively slow pace, and no one is left behind. Each ride has a theme, and riders are encouraged to wear costumes or decorate their bikes to fit the theme.

Community Bike & All-Santa Cruz Cleanup Day!

We will kick things off with a community park clean-up at Pinto Lake County Park @ 1pm

Ride along the beautiful Green Valley Corridor, celebrate Mother’s Day, and connect with Mother Nature on our ride. All ages are welcome to join us from 1pm to 4pm as we bike to local parks and participate in the Santa Cruz clen-up day. Stops will include Pinto Lake County Park, Mesa Village Park, and Pinto Lake City Park.

  • Free bike lights, snacks, and more!
  • Youth participants will be entered in to win a scooter and skateboard.

Let’s come together to make a positive impact on our community and environment!

Bike Maintenance Class

Welcome to the wonderful world of bicycles! We will cover the three major systems that operate on a bicycle: wheels/tires, brakes, and shifting. We will also go over basic maintenance and safety checks, and take a tour of the shop to become acquainted with the space. A great class for beginners or newcomers to bike mechanics and to the Bike Church!
